I have been reading more of Byron Katie again – A Thousand Names for Joy. Every sentence in that book is profound. Who would you be without your story? If you want to open your heart, question your thinking. With “non-being,” your story just melts away.
What is my story? Distracted business owner, over-committed super-busy gotta-do-more gotta-be-more go go go super-networker mr. know-it-all, here let me help you with that…
Without the story, there is space, there is quiet; I can just be. There is not much more that needs to happen.
From this point of “just be,” the anxiety of the present moment begins to melt away.
What should we do? Just be. Are we going to be OK? Just be. What if X happens? Just be.
Eckhart Tolle speaks a lot about this in A new Heaven and a New Earth. He talks about being in the present moment, not thinking about tomorrow, or an hour from now, or even a minute from now: “How are you right now?” The answer is always, “Right now, I am fine.” Good. Let’s take the next moment. How are you doing now? “I’m fine.” Good. And the next moment… This moment. And this one. And this one. “I’m fine.”
Do not regret the past or worry about the future. Just be.

Very nice points to keep in one’s back pocket for mindful moments when we just need to take a breath and just be. Thank you.
